Dearest California,I finally made my plane reservation! Next month we will be reunited, for an extended weekend.
I started a list of everything I miss about you...but it got really long (and depressing). It began to resemble the ad space at the back of high school year books that are full of useless acroynms, forgotten and meaningless shortly after graduation.
The Cliff Notes version is that I cannot wait to put my arms around all my loved ones! Oh the places we will go! The beach! San Francisco! And numerous bars with far less ridiculous drinking laws than Utah! Oh! My! The fun we will have!

I know exactly how you feel [sob]! But alas, I won't be going back until the 4th of July.....a little ironic I suppose, maybe I'm subconsciously celebrating my independence from Utah by always going to CA on the 4th of July. Hmmm.....
I haven't been to CA since my honeymoon 5 years ago. Please give some CA some lovin' from me. Eat lots of stuff with avocados and drink something horrifically alcohol-ladden.

There will come a time when you won't think about California every day.
Sure, your body and mind will always ache for the crisp air and the free-thinking people (not to mention all the fake boobs), but you will balance that yearning with a great appreciation of all things snowy and Utah-like.

Tell the beach hello. And probably you should tell Girlsnap that there is nothing to love about snowy utahness. Apparently nobody has let her in on that. If you need me, I will be downstairs taking the winter gear out of the storage area and putting it into the washing machine.

I can't remember what led you to Utah at the moment.
...but, when you do return stick to SF proper and avoid Oakland. while i like our place and love our puppy I am so missing the castro!!!
